From November 8, 2026, to January 10, 2027, the GOP Varieté-Theater Hannover will be transformed into the magical island world of Michael Ende’s beloved children’s classic.
With “Jim Button and the Wild 13”, the lovingly staged musical production by C² CONCERTS, in cooperation with UHPR | DAS PROMOTIONSBÜRO, brings the next great adventure of Jim Button, Luke the Locomotive Driver, and the loyal steam locomotive Emma to the stage.
Following their successful first adventure, the journey continues — and this time, it takes them out to sea. Jim Button has grown older and is now wondering about an important question: Where does he actually come from? Together with Luke and Emma, he sets out to uncover the mystery of his origins. Along the way, the three extraordinary characters encounter fascinating figures such as the mermaid Sursulapitschi and the Sea King, have to navigate the dangerous Magnetic Cliffs, and eventually come face to face with the feared pirate gang known as the Wild 13.
The children’s musical combines an exciting story with catchy melodies, humorous moments, and plenty of heart. The experience is made even more special through the active participation of the audience: together, spectators create sounds such as rain and the roar of the sea and become part of the action on stage. This makes every performance a unique and interactive experience for the whole family.
Just like Michael Ende’s books, the musical tells a story about friendship, courage, and solidarity — and about finding the strength to grow beyond yourself.
A magical adventure for young and old Lummerland fans, recommended for children aged four and up.
