From November 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the GOP Varieté-Theater Hannover will stage the children's classic Jim Knopf and Lukas the Engine Driver as a lovingly staged family musical. The new production—with music by Konstantin Wecker and the signature of the late playwright Christian Berg—celebrates the 65th anniversary of the book's publication.
With captivating songs, humorous dialogue, colorful costumes, and artistic touches, the ensemble will transport children ages four and up and their families into the fantastical world of Lummerland. A heartwarming experience full of wit, excitement, and imagination that will delight young and old alike and bring the story of the beloved children's classic to life in a new light.
