The State Museum Hanover displays art from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century, archaeology, ethnology and natural history.

Close to the hannoverian Maschsee you will find the largest and most-visited museum in the federal state. In its large collections Rembrandt, Rubens and Albrecht Dürer meet dinosaurs, fishes, reptiles, ancient and foreign civilisations. The Lower Saxony State Museum Hanover (Niedersächsisches Landesmuseum Hannover) contains five collections introduced in three worlds. The World of Nature presents a unique combination of living animals and preparations. The World of Humans combines archaeology and ethnology. The World of Art shows an outstanding collection of paintings, graphic arts and the former royal coins.

Beside permanent exhibition the museum presents several special exhibitions and offers different guiding tours, lectures and other museum educational services. A shop and a restaurant with a pictorially atrium completes the offer.
